7 total recoveries from COVID-19 in PH; 15 new positive cases

As of Wednesday, March 18, the Department of Health recorded at least 7 recoveries from the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Philippines, including 15 new positive cases.


Of this tally, the total of confirmed cases in the country has reached 202 as of Wednesday and the last reported death toll is at 14.


Due to the continuous increase in number, President Rodrigo Duterte has placed the entire country under a state of calamity. Luzon is currently under strict quarantine.


According to a data provided by the World Health Organization, the global pandemic killed nearly 8,000 and infected 197,000 others worldwide.


WHO stated that COVID-19 may be fatal for the elderly, the immunocompromised, and those with underlying medical condition but 80 percent of cases globally showed a high chance of recovery without undergoing a special treatment.
