All classes suspended in SJDM due to effects of Taal ashfall

Mayor Arthur Robes has ordered cancellation of classes in all levels, both private and public schools in the city of San Jose del Monte tomorrow, January 13, 2020.

The SJDM Public Information Office (SJDMPIO) said that the suspension order was issued upon the recommendation of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) due to the effects of eruptive activity at Taal Volcano Main Crater.

SJDMPIO also advised San Joseños to ensure their safety as the effects of ashfall could cause hazards once it reach the city. The office provided helpful information via Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Taal, the second most active volcano in the Philippines, emitted a giant plume of ash on Sunday which prompted authorities to take precautionary measures.
