Ben & Ben to host FB live event in response to COVID-19

Ben & Ben will host a Facebook live event on Friday, March 27, in response for the COVID-19 situation in the Philippines.

The Filipino indie folk band announced it on their official Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.

The project is called "Puhon" which is a Cebuano word for "hopefully" that it initiates to bring the community together through stories and music.

According to their website, Puhon aims to "build a network of courage and inspiration" throughout the country.

Netizens have the option to donate any amount, read inspirational stories, or submit their bayanihan stories to share hope amidst COVID-19 crisis.

All proceeds will go to frontline healthcare workers and affected communities. The money will help them to provide personal protective equipment (PPEs) and nutrition support for frontliners, COVID-19 testing kits, and relief goods for daily wage workers.

Beneficiaries are One Nation Against COVID-19 Project, UP Manila National Institutes of Health (NIH), Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, CDO COVID Donation Drive, and PantawidCovid Project.

Puhon is also co-presented by Limitless Lab, Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), and Team Energy Center for Bridging Leadership.
