Bulacan reports 1 new COVID-19 case

Another confirmed case of COVID-19 is reported in the province of Bulacan on Monday, March 23, increasing total number of reported cases to 8.


Bulacan Provincial Health Office (PHO) said that the 8th COVID-19 patient in the province is from the municipality of Malolos, increasing the city's positive cases to 2.


Malolos Mayor Gilbert "Bebong" Gatchalian posted the announcement through a recorded video. He assured that the local government is already doing its "best" to protect its constituents from further transmission.


“Sa kasalukuyan, isinagawa na po ng ating pamahalaan ang karampatang aksyon kaugnay dito. Isinagawa na po ang contact tracing at isinasagawa pong patuloy ang disinfections sa mga lugar na maaring napuntahan o napanatilihan po ng ating kababayan,” said Gatchalian.

The other 6 COVID-19 patients are from the City of San Jose del Monte with 2 reported cases, Guiguinto, San Ildefonso and Baliwag with 1 reported case each.


Based on the PHO data, there are 666 patients under monitoring while 203 are patients under investigation.


The city's total number of deceased patients is already 2, both from the municipality San Ildefonso.


The 2nd COVID-19 case of Malolos is among the additional 82 positive cases recorded in the Philippines as of Monday.


According to the Department of Health (DOH), the total number of infections increased to 462 with 33 fatalities and 18 recoveries nationwide.
