Bus companies offers free rides for health workers

Bus companies accommodates 12 buses to medical workers that are considered as the frontliners in fighting the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Wednesday, March 18.


The Philippine Cost Guard and the public works department send out 2 buses that gives free rides for medical workers around Metro Manila, according to Transportation Undersecretary Artemil Tuazon, Jr.


Tuazon did not disclosed which companies lent their buses.


DOTr said that the buses will pick up medical workers from the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange and the BFCT East Metro Transport Terminal in Marikina.


A gap of at least 1 meter or social distancing must be observed that will help to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID19 in shuttle services, said by Tuazon. Buses will undergo disinfection before and after every trip.
