Department of Health released a statement on the first case of 2019-nCoV

The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed on Thursday, January 30, the first case of 2019 novel coronavirus (nCoV) in the Philippines.


The first nCoV patient is a 38-year-old Chinese woman from Wuhan who arrived in Manila via HongKong on January 21.


After confirming the case, DOH released a statement regarding the first case of 2019-nCoV in the Philippines.


In the statement, DOH, Secretary Francisco Duque III said that, DOH is on top of this evolving situation. Duque also said that they are also working with the hospital where the patient is admitted and have activated the incident command system of the saod hospital for appropriate management specifically on infection control, case management, and containtment.
