DepEd official tests positive for COVID-19

The Department of Education announced on Thursday that an official from the School Division Office in Mandaluyong City has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19). In a text message to a newspaper outlet, Manila Bulletin, the DepEd National Capital Region (NCR) Regional Director Malcolm Garma said that the official has tested positive and was present in the duration of National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) that was held in Tuguegarao City in Cagayan. The official was also present in National Festival of Talents (NFOT) in Ilagan City, Isabela. The events were held on last March 9 to 15. DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones said in a separate text message to the newspaper outlet that the Department is still finding information on the patient. By: Denise Fajardo
