DOH reports 13 new COVID-19 recoveries; total death toll climbs to 19

As of Saturday, March 21, the Department of Health recorded at least 13 recoveries from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Philippines, including 19 total deaths.


The 9th recovery patient is PH62, a 35-year-old Filipina from Rizal with no travel or exposure history. Symptoms began March 1, tested positive March 13. The patient was discharged March 15 with one negative result. She is now asymptomatic.


The 10th recovery patient is PH41, a 75-year-old Filipina from Makati with travel history to USA and exposure to known COVID-19 cases. Symptoms began March 1. She tested positive on March 11 and discharged on March 17, aysmptomatic with one negative result.


The 11th and 12th recovery patients are married; PH16 (a 70-year-old Filipino) and PH17 (a 69-year-old Filipina) from San Juan. They were confirmed positive on March 9, and both hypertensive. The couple was discharged March 19 with two negative results each.


The 13th recovery patients is PH49, a 79-year-old Filipino male from Batangas with exposure to know COVID-19 case. Symptoms began March 1. The patient tested positive on March 11. His case reported a severe case on March 13. He was dischared today March 21, aysmptomatic with two negative results.


The 19th death recorded is PH205, a 73-year-old Filipina from San Juan with no travel or exposure history. Pronounced dead on arrival on March 12 due to cardiac arrest. She tested positive for COVID-19 on March 18. The patient is known diabetic and hypertensive.


The total tally of confirmed cases in the country rose to 307 as DOH reported 77 new cases.
