DOH reports 20 new COVID-19 recoveries; total death toll climbs to 35

As of Saturday, March 24, the Department of Health recorded at least 20 recoveries from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Philippines, including 19 total deaths. The 19th recovery patient is PH130, a 21-year-old Filipina from Davao de Oro with travel history from United Kingdom and Qatar. Symptoms began March 3, tested positive March 15. The patient was discharged March 23 with one negative result. She is now asymptomatic. The 20th recovery patient is PH87, a 76-year-old Filipina from Quezon City with exposure to known COVID-19 cases. Symptoms began February 25. She tested positive on March 14 and discharged on March 22, aysmptomatic with one negative result. The patient is known diabetic and hypertensive. The 34th death recorded is PH215, a 71-year-old Filipino from Quezon City.. Pronounced dead on March 24. He tested positive for COVID-19 on March 18. The patient is known diabetic and hypertensive. The 35th death recorded is PH239, a 76-year-old Filipino from Cavite. Pronounced dead on March 14. He tested positive for COVID-19 on March 20. The patient's cause of death is Heart Failure, Community-acquired Pneumonia High Risk, ST-elevation Myocardial Infarction, Acute Respiratory Failure, COVID-19. The patient is known diabetic. The total tally of confirmed cases in the country rose to 552 as DOH reported 90 new cases.
