DOH reports 26 COVID-19 recoveries; total death toll climbs to 38

As of Saturday, March 25, the Department of Health recorded at least 26 recoveries from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Philippines, including 38 total deaths. The 21st recovery patient is PH95, a 64-year-old Filipina from Batangas with travel history from Italy. Symptoms began March 6, tested positive March 14. The patient was discharged March 24 with two negative results. She is now asymptomatic. Her other condition is hypertensive. The 22nd recovery patient is PH10, a 57-year-old Filipino from Quezon City. Symptoms began February 20. He tested positive on March 8 and discharged on March 23, aysmptomatic with two negative results. The patient is known diabetic, and has an asthma. The 23rd recovery patient is PH18, a 41-year-old Filipino from Pasig City with travel history from Taiwan. Symptoms began February 26. He tested positive on March 9 and discharged on March 24, aysmptomatic with two negative results. The 24th recovery patient is PH82, a 66-year-old Filipino from Quezon City with no travel and exposure history. Symptoms began March 5. He tested positive on March 14 and discharged on March 24, aysmptomatic with one negative result. The 25th recovery patient is PH31, a 28-year-old Filipina from San Juan City. Symptoms began March 1. She tested positive on March 10 and discharged on March 22, aysmptomatic with one negative result. The 26th recovery patient is PH23, a 30-year-old Filipina from San Juan City. Symptoms began March 3. She tested positive on March 7 and discharged on March 24, aysmptomatic with two negative results. The 34th death recorded is PH215, a 71-year-old Filipino from Quezon City.. Pronounced dead on March 24. He tested positive for COVID-19 on March 18. The patient is known diabetic and hypertensive. The 36th death recorded is PH319, a 56-year-old Filipino from Quezon City with no travel and exposure history. Pronounced dead on March 22. He tested positive for COVID-19 on March 21. The patient's cause of death is Community-acquired Pneumonia secondary to Covid-19. His other co-morbidities are hypertension and diabetes mellitus. The 37th death recorded is PH326, a 57-year-old Filipino from Caloocan City with no travel and exposure history. Pronounced dead on March 16. He tested positive for COVID-19 on March 21. The patient's cause of death is Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome secondary to Community-acquired Pneumonia High Risk, Covid-19. His other co-morbidities are hypertension and diabetes mellitus, and dyslipidemia. The 38th death recorded is PH29, a 82-year-old Filipina from Marikina City with travel history from USA and exposure to a known COVID-19 case. Pronounced dead on March 23. She tested positive for COVID-19 on March 10. The patient's cause of death is Shock multifactorial (septic and cardiogenic), Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome secondary to COVID-19 Pneumonia, Acute Renal Failure secondary to Sepsis. His other co-morbidities are hypertension and diabetes mellitus, and Valvular Heart Disease. The total tally of confirmed cases in the country rose to 636 as DOH reported 84 new cases.
