The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed additional 10 cases of COVID-19 in the country. Rising the tally of numbers to 20.
According to DOH Assistant Secretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire in a press briefing on Monday afternoon, DOH reported 10 more coronavirus cases on top of four new cases that was announced yesterday.
Vergeire said that the sudden increase of cases was due to DOH's "intensified surveillance" on suspected cases of the disease.
Last Sunday night, DOH released a statement that confirms four COVID-19 cases that brought the total number of infections to 10. This includes the first case of local transmission.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque earlier disclosed that the four patients are reported separately admitted to the Makati Medical Center in Taguig City, The Medical City in Ortigas, and St. Luke's Hospital in Quezon City.
