DTI to file criminal charges against traders who overprice goods amid Taal crisis



The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) issued an statement, Monday, January 13, after receiving reports of sudden price hike of N95 masks at and gas masks in stores.


According to DTI, they are willing to file “administrative and criminal charges against business entities and individuals

who capitalizes on the consumers’ urgent need for their own profit.”


Moreover, DTI has sent teams to monitor the price of masks among markets.


No changes in price among basic necessities and prime commodities according to the state trade agency.
