As of 4:00 p.m, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOLCS) recorded a total of 144 volcanic earthquakes since 1:00 p.m, January 12 in the Taal region.
Philvolcs released a statement confirming that new lateral vents were observed to have opened up on the northern flank area and that eruptions are still ongoing. The agency's social media account is currently updating the number as a series of earthquakes is still occurring.
