Senator Pimentel tests positive for COVID-19

Senator Koko Pimentel III has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The senator confirmed his condition on Wednesday. He is the second senator in the Philippines to be infected with the virus. Sen. Pimentel said in a statement sent to reporters, "I was informed late last night March 24, 2020 that I have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The swab was taken last Friday, March 20, 2020... I have quarantined myself upon the doctor's advice and consistent with the protocol. I feel I am, with God's help, on the way to recovery." He asked for prayers for himself and his family as his wife is about to give birth.
