The ash explosion intensified starting 5:30 PM as the continuous eruption caused frequent volcanic lightning reaching as far as Quezon City, volcanic tremors, and magnitude 2.5 and 3.9 earthquakes in Tagaytay City and Alitagtag, Batangas.

The raise of alert level over the Taal Volcano urged residents and nearby communities at high risk to evacuate as hazardous explosive eruption is possible within hours to days.
