Angat Dam’s water level can hold irrigation to Bulacan and Pampanga farmers

As preparation for the cropping in some provinces in Bulacan and Pampanga, farmers are expected to receive more allocation of irrigation from Angat Dam this month said National Irrigation Administration (NIA) officials.

NIA water control chief in Bulacan, Felix Robles said that the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) had already approved the allocation of cubic per seconds for hectares and hectares of rice fields in two provinces.

Since last year, the cutting of allocation for farmers had been dropping due to the state of the water level of Angat Dam.

Because of moonsoon rains and typhoons it had raised the water level’s stock, which caused the farmers to ask further allocation.

The additional allocation for irrigation might be approved but the schedule for it had been set yet for the release.
